I love the sight and scent of the ocean, when you first crest the rise.
The fleeting sight of a doe and her jumping surprise.

I love the smell of wood smoke and its whipping curl.
The feel of a tabletop handmade from burl.

I love the presence of a lady and all she brings.
The beauty of her smell ..like early spring.

I love the way she inspires me, in my life.
Her special essence, a spiritual price.

I love the way she looks, beautiful hair and all.
She answers that vivid, demanding natures call.

I love the sun when it chances to please.
Sitting together on a hilltop, in a warm summer breeze.

I love the meandering trails, of forest lore.
Finding a forgotten cabin and chancing its door.

I love to touch your hair and cup your chin.
Then say something to you that would make you grin.

We could walk life's wandering trail.
In search of our life's Holy Grail.

Then drink from its brimming simmering cup.
Enough warm happiness to fill us up.

When she finally arrives to spend life with me.
I'm hoping that all of this will be.

    Exceptionally on the mark.

I enjoyed your poem very much, that hits close to home. I like nature and all she holds, and the beauty in every sight is a treasure, even to the point of watching ants marching along the ground or a spider weaving it's web. I love watching the hawks fly overhead, a coyote racing across an open field, or walking through the woods and marvelling at nature's surprises. To me, Nature, Poetry and the sense of romance are all one package to be shared with another, whether it is someone special by your side or for the world to read. Sorry I seemed to have gotten carried away, the poem struck a spark in me which today was very much needed.

I seem to take a liking to the writings of" Chuck Johnson ". When she finally comes along , I believe she will find a jewel and I believe she will be treated like one too  Rare is the woman that would not be held captive by such a poetic spirit

This poem is absolutely "beautiful" the opening lines of your poem just ooze imagery I love the sight and scent of the ocean, when you first crest the rise.
The fleeting sight of a doe and her jumping surprise.
who could not continue to read on after experiencing that!! the middle of your writing is wonderful I love the presence of a lady and all she brings.
The beauty of her smell ..like early spring.

I love the way she inspires me, in my life.
Her special essence, a spiritual price.

I love the way she looks, blond hair and all.
She answers that vivid, demanding natures call.
I enjoyed the way you have intermingled your stanzas between imagery of nature and of your thoughts of a lady, I love the meandering trails, of forest lore.
Finding a forgotten cabin and chancing its door.

I love to touch your hair and cup your chin.
Then say something to you that would make you grin.
    your ending stanzas speak of
We could walk life's wandering trail.
In search of our life's Holy Grail.

Then drink from its brimming simmering cup.
Enough warm happiness to fill us up.
what a beautiful ending to your poem. Your writing is always so very beautiful and inspirational... well done and thank you for sharing ~~wishintreeUK~~ (Katie)
