Poetry By Chuck

She fights a lonely battle
one frought with lofty hurdles
and yet keeps her spirit strong.

She stays above it all
in a manner of a queen
one hard pressed in a battle
of not nations, rather a body between;

Good health and illness,
a whole life or none.
Its gray inside in places unseen
and her spirit fights for her dreams.

Her mind is a sharp sword
that keeps the darkness away
and she sharpens it on her life
in an effort to strengthen
her needful ways.

Time for others is not there,
not now when all is at risk.
Time for meaningful gatherings
may only make her more sick.

She must be strong and able
to cast the devil "C" aside.
She must do what she must
and control the hurt inside.

I support and enourage
all of her many strengths.
I am her gentleman writer

composing as she wins her race.

Author's Questions/Comments
She is facing Cancer again.  That insidious enemy of life.  Three times she has survived.  This time will be no different.  She is the strongest of us all, to have faced and won such a life, and yet she could use your help, in the form of a prayer tonight.
