in the inky blackness of night
and the forces of darkness seem to be
drowning him and his life.
When his surroundings are not free
but his mind tells him they are
that's when he needs to see
a lifeboat from afar.
The only choice he has
the only thing he can control
is himself,
and he's bound by rope.
His life has been a rope.
One that is consumed by its length.
A feeling that comes over him
like a bound blanket.
Where there has been
so little hope
along the twisted knots
of rope.
There is inside
a heart of gold
one that believes in life
and wants to be bold.
Take away all his troubles
relieve all his pain
release his spirit
and leave him hollow.
Then let someone
find that space
and fill it up
with love.
He is lost at sea
in the wind and rain
of a life that is
and the tides are against him.
